Running directly inside your return portal, AI Smart Exchange analyzes a shopper’s return reason alongside historical exchange patterns from similar customers to suggest the exact item variant they are most likely to want.

Instead of browsing through your entire product catalog again, shoppers get a personalized, intelligent recommendation right when they need it most.

How AI Smart Exchange Works

By interpreting shopper intent and comments in real time, AI Smart Exchange delivers smart, relevant suggestions tailored to specific return scenarios:

• Size Issues: Comments indicating an item is “too small” or “too tight” trigger a suggestion for the next size up. If an item is “too big” or “loose,” a smaller size is recommended.
• Color Preferences: Notes mentioning a specific color preference will suggest that exact color in the customer’s current size (or the nearest available shade).
• Replacements for Damaged Items: If an item arrives damaged or defective, the portal recommends the exact same variant or the closest available in-stock alternative.
• Stock-Aware Recommendations: Out-of-stock items are never suggested. The feature automatically pivots to the best available in-stock option so shoppers are never disappointed.

• Clear Visual Highlights: On the resolve step of your return portal, the “Different size or color” option displays a subtle purple glow, a ✦ Best match for you badge, and an explanatory reason (e.g., “Most shoppers who said ‘too small’ sized up to Size L.”).
• Guided Variant Picker: Suggested options within the picker are marked with a ✦ badge, making the recommended choice clear and convenient.
• Full Flexibility: Shoppers retain complete control and can choose any other variant or item if they prefer.
• Reliable Fail-Safe Design: If recommendations are slow or unavailable, the portal silently displays the standard exchange picker without interrupting or blocking the user experience.

How to Get Started

AI Smart Exchange is available now for merchants on Premium and Enterprise plans. (Note: New stores require a small amount of exchange history for AI suggestions to generate accurately.)

Setting it up is easy:

1. Log into Synctrack Returns & Exchanges.
2. Navigate to the main AI Smart Exchange tab in the app navigation.
3. Go to Settings -> AI Smart Exchange to toggle the feature on or off and customize how it behaves.
