Priority Mail is designed for everyday packages and usually delivers within one to three business days. USPS Ground Advantage is a lower-cost option for heavier parcels that don’t require express delivery.

International customers may also see services such as Priority Mail International, Priority Mail Express International, Global Express Guaranteed (GXG), or First-Class Package International Service, each with different transit times and tracking availability.

How USPS Tracking Works

A USPS tracking number records important checkpoints as your shipment moves through the postal network. Instead of showing a live GPS location, tracking updates whenever the package is scanned at a processing facility or delivery office.

Common tracking statuses include:

• Accepted – USPS has received the shipment.
• In Transit – The package is moving between processing facilities.
• Arrived at Post Office – The shipment has reached the local post office responsible for delivery.
• Out for Delivery – The mail carrier is delivering the package today.
• Delivered – The shipment has been successfully delivered or placed in a mailbox, parcel locker, or other designated delivery location.
